This ivory L shaped banquette pairs light upholstery with a dark wood base. The wraparound shape offers seating along two sides of a dining area. Skippy Upholstery in Brooklyn keeps the seat cushions and backrests fitted to the frame’s strong geometric lines.
Ivory L shaped banquette: design details
The pale cover brings contrast to the substantial wood structure. Smooth surfaces and clear seams give the cushions a restrained finish. At the corner, the back and seat need to work as part of the same layout. The project offers ideas for both home dining nooks and commercial seating.
Planning a similar project
Built-in seating starts with the space around it. Share seat lengths, backrest heights, and the depth available for cushions. Table placement and the approach to the seat matter too. For a business, tell us how often people use the furniture and how staff clean it. We can discuss materials around those needs. Smooth panels, tufting, and channel details each create a different look. The choice should work with the frame and leave the seating practical to use.
Send a full view of the base as well as the cushions. Frame thickness, corner shape, and existing seat height help us discuss suitable upholstery proportions.
Also decide which elements should remain visible. An exposed wood base, a padded seat front, and a fully covered frame create different results. Reference photos can help explain your preference, while measurements help relate that idea to the actual furniture and the available floor space.
